PASTOR NEB

If we had met just a few days before I gave my life to Jesus in 2001, “future pastor” is not something you would expect of me. Two years into college, after a childhood raised in a loving Christian home, and I was more in love with my sin and myself than with Jesus.

But the world failed me. My relationships, my friendships, my dreams – they all failed, and in the fall of 2001 I crashed to my personal rock bottom. The Holy Spirit got a hold of me and overcame my rebellious heart. I spent days poring over Scripture, experiencing the weight and shame of my sin for the first time in my life. I cried out to Jesus, repented of my sins, and He rescued me.

Everything changed. Jesus replaced my love for sin with love for Him. The regret of my past was replaced with a confident expectation for my future. God made a new person out of me in Christ with new desires that are now aligned with the will of God. I went from having no place and no hope, to being a child of God with a glorious inheritance.

The next year awakened more for my passion, purpose, and calling than I could have ever dreamed of. Under the mentorship of older men in my local church, I fell deeply in love with God’s Word and knew that teaching the Bible was what God had for me to do in this life. It’s been the joy of my life to be called to teach the Bible since 2005.

I currently pastor and reside in Dallas, TX, with my beautiful wife, Hiwot, and our four children: Lydia, 15, Daniel, 14, Haset (Joy), 12, Zaema (Melody), 10.
